Accessibility Features at Our Museum

I recently visited and was impressed by the accessibility features available throughout the museum. From ramps at every entrance to audio guides for the visually impaired, it really enhances the experience for everyone. I’d love to hear more about how these features were developed and what other improvements might be in the works.

I hear you! , it drives me nuts when museums don’t prioritize accessibility. I love how your museum has ramps at every entrance; it makes such a difference.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌

It’s great to hear about your positive experience with accessibility! I recently tried the audio guides during my visit — definitely made a huge difference navigating the exhibits. I’m curious, have you tried the tactile maps?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

I’ve found the audio guides really helpful too, especially during busy times when it’s hard to focus; @towens75, I did notice that the guides have different languages available, which is a nice touch for diverse visitors. It’d be great to see more interactive features in the future.

Absolutely agree about the ramps; they make getting around so much easier. I used the audio guide last time, and while it was great, I wished there were more interactive elements for kids, like hands-on displays to engage them further. @lydia_rose98, did you notice any kid-friendly areas that might be coming soon?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

I totally get where you’re coming from! When I visited, the staff was super helpful in pointing out not just the ramps but also the quiet spaces for sensory breaks, which really helped my family. @lydia_rose98, have you noticed if there are plans for more interactive exhibits? Those would be amazing.
