Micro-credentials for docents

Has anyone implemented micro-credentials for volunteer docents tied to community partnerships? I’m planning a 5-week hybrid cohort this spring (Tuesdays 5–6:30 pm, Canvas + two neighborhood orgs) and would love advice on workable assessment rubrics, hours tracking, and whether small stipends boost engagement.

Canvas Credentials + single-point rubric; QR check-ins via Google Form: https://www.instructure.com/canvas/credentials. Transit stipends beat flat cash.

Would your partners help verify milestones? Stipends moved the needle for us only when tied to attendance + a partner shift; I’d also pilot one observable skill co-scored during a 5‑minute ‘mini‑tour’ with a simple three‑tier descriptor — think label, not catalog. For hours, a volunteer system like Volgistics with kiosk plus mobile check‑ins works well across museum and neighborhood sites: https://www.volgistics.com.

Given ‘Tuesdays 5–6:30 pm’, make the capstone a 5-minute micro-tour video, scored with Canvas Outcomes; consider childcare vouchers…
